MR ABAYOMI ABOLAJI-PERMANENT SECRETARY
Mr. Abayomi Abolanle Abolaji was born in Lagos on the 19th December, 1964 to the family of Mr. Olowookere and Mrs. Nimat Abolaji. He began his education at L.A Primary School, Layeni Ojo Road, Lagos and Oke Ogbe United Primary School, Imagbon, Ijebu-Ode before proceeding to Itamapako High School, Iloti, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State for his secondary education.
In 1988, he was admitted into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for a Bachelor of Education Degree Programme (Social Studies Major). He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree programme in Education Planning at the National Open University of Nigeria.
He began his career with Lagos State Government through the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) in 1992 as a Master Grade II teacher GL.08 and was immediately deployed to Girls Secondary Grammar School, Obalende. Since then, he has traversed various State Government MDAs such as Eti-Osa Zonal Office of TESCOM, Education District Offices and the Lagos State Technical & Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB), where he served as Director, Education Planning &Data Management prior to his appointment as Permanent Secretary.
Mr. Abayomi is a recipient of Commendation Letters as well as numerous recognition Awards, some of which include; 2nd Best District Staff (Senior) Education District III (2009), Best District Staff (Senior) Education District IV (2012) and Best District Staff (Senior) Lagos State Ministry of Education (2012).
A member of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and the Insurance Association of Nigeria (IAN), Mr. Abayomi is a devout Christian who loves exercising and playing badminton. He is happily married and blessed with children.
