Mrs Azeezat Grillo Director – Policy, Planning, Research and Statistics

Mrs. Asisat Aderoju Grillo (Nee Dosunmu) is a seasoned Teacher, Educator, Planner and Administrator par excellence with over thirty years experience in management and administration at various level and capacity in the Education Sector of Lagos State.

Born into Dosunmu royal family in Lagos State on the 16th August, 1959, Mrs. Asisat  Aderoju Grillo started her education career in Lagos at Yaba Model Primary School from 1966 to 1972 and her secondary school from 1973 to 1977 at Ansar-ud deen Girls High School.

She started her Tertiary Education in Lagos State College of Education (now Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education) between 1983 and 1985 where she bagged a National Certificate of Education (NCE), University of Ibadan between 1990 to 1996 with Bachelor of Education degree with special interest in History. She had her Post Graduate Master degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Lagos State University and Master in Educational Administration and Planning from National Open University.

As a young lady that had passion for teaching, she joined the service of Lagos State through the School Management Board (SMB) in 1986 as a classroom teacher. She had taught for thirteen years. She had served in Local Education Districts as Monitoring and Investigation Officer and Inspector of Education between 1999 and 2006. She was seconded to the Ministry of Transportation as a Manager between 2006 and 2010 where she was giving a commendation letter as the best Performing Station Manager. She was redeployed to Ministry of Education in the year 2010 to the department of Policy, Planning, Research and Statistics. She became a full Director in the year 2017 and rose to the position of the Head of Department in the year 2018.

Mrs. Asisat Aderoju Grillo had represented her department and the Ministry in various programmes, Workshops and Summits both at the State and National level. Her achievement in the Ministry of Education includes but not limited to the following:

  1. She was the pioneer desk officer Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of the Department of Policy, Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry of Education
  2. The pioneer desk officer Service Delivery Unit of the Ministry of Education
