“WE WILL SUSTAIN TEMPO OF EXCELLENCE IN STATE-OWNED INSTITUTIONS” – LAGOS TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSIONER VOWS
Lagos State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule has pledged his commitment to sustaining the current tempo of excellence in all the State-owned institutions, adding that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has invested in infrastructure and quality tertiary education, hence, the time to hit the ground running is now.
Sule, who made the promise recently during his assumption of duty at the new Ministry, noted that the establishment of two additional State Universities by the State Government was a response to the need to provide our youths the opportunity for tertiary education.
While commending his predecessor, Tokunbo Wahab, for working hard to ensure that the vision for additional State Universities by the State Government was realised, the Commissioner assured that his administration would work to sustain the current tempo of excellence in all institutions of the State.
He urged the staff to join hands with him in implementing the policies that would help to raise the bar of Tertiary education in the State, stressing that it was not a coincidence that LASU and the two newly established State Universities, LASUED, and LASUSTECH, became first choice institutions for most candidates, but a practical example that investment in Tertiary education in the State, is yielding desired result.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kasali Adeniran explained that the new Ministry is blessed with human capital and material resources needed for good performance.
He assured the Commissioner that the staff would give him all the necessary support that would fast-track development in State-owned institutions.
