Mrs Grace Olayibo Akinfoyewa (Nee Daniel) was born on the 19th July, 1966 in Ebute-Metta (West) of Lagos State.
She attended Marywood Primary School (1972-1978) and later Marywood Grammar School between (1978-1983). She proceeded to Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island for Advanced Level Certificate in 1985.
She studied zoology at the University of Ife (Now, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) and graduated in 1990. She thereafter did her postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the University of Calabar and her Master’s degree in Research and public Policy from the University of Lagos, Akoka in 2019.
Grace Akinfoyewa’s Public Service sojourned started at Kadara Grammar School in 1992 as a Classroom teacher. She was at various times deployed to St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka and Fazi-l-Omar Senior High School, Iwaya where she taught Physics, Mathematics and Biology. She received letters of commendation and recognition as the Best Science Teacher in 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2002. She was also the Best Head of Department in Fazl-I-Omar Grammar School from 2004 – 2008. In 2008, she was redeployed to the Inspectorate Department of District VI, Ikeja Zone 1.
In 2015, she was deployed to the Ministry of Education, Office of Education Quality Assurance as head of Planning Unit. She has also held many strategic position in the Lagos State Educational Sector.
She rose to the position of Director of Education in 2019 and was deployed to Science and Technology Department as Head of Science Education related competitions and later Science Education Units. She currently serves as the Director, Science and Technology department of the Ministry.
She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA), Fellow of Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD) and a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management. (MNIM).
She is happily married with amiable children.
