Somoye Olusola Anthonia is a Masters Graduate of Guidance and Counseling (Education) from the University of Lagos. She earlier obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Guidance and Counseling from the University of Ibadan between 1983 -1986.
Somoye started her work career with the Lagos State School Management Board and her Guidance and Counseling teaching profession took her to various schools such as Mushin Boys High School, Okota Isolo 1987- 1991 and Ilupeju College, Ilupeju between 1991- 1994.
She has served at various education districts and in several capacities: Mushin, Somolu, Mainland Local Education Districts and Education District IV. She served as the Acting and later Director Schools Administration Department in 2014 and 2015 – 2019 respectively.
She was a pioneer member of the State School Improvement Team (ESSPIN/SUBEB) from 2010-2014. While discharging her duties, Mrs Olusola Somoye attended various trainings to enhance her productivity amongst which are Cambridge University Train-the-Trainer Workshop on School Improvement, 2010- 2014; Strategic Leadership for Improved Educational Outcomes 2015, Global Contemporary Best Practices in Educational Management Information System at Banjul, Gambia 2015, Leadership and Performance Management International Executive Training – Seychelles – 2015.
In 2019, she was deployed back to the Ministry of Education as Director, Child Guidance School Counseling and Special Education Unit, a position she maintained till date.
